YEREVAN. – At the meeting with the Prime Minister, we had presented our demand that our soldiers be transferred from Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] and continue their [military] service in Armenia. Today, they gave us a response, according to which our children [serving in Artsakh shall] return only as a leave starting on December 1. A parent told this to those assembled during Monday’s protest—in front of the main building of the government of Armenia—of the relatives of the soldiers who are serving in Artsakh

"Besides, there was a consultation with the Prime Minister today, the Minister of Defense was also present, and there was a discussion to start the replacement. (…). The Prime Minister's aide substantiated that since discussions are going on today, the Minister of Defense should go, the instructions will be given based on the results of that discussion, and they are ready to receive us tomorrow," this parent added, noting that their respective meeting at the Ministry of Defense shall be at 10am Tuesday.

With that, Monday's aforesaid protest ended.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
