Servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] are monitoring the situation around the clock and monitoring the ceasefire, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The peacekeepers ensure the safety of civilian vehicles and the movement of residents through the Lachin corridor, the transfer of food and various goods, and accompany and ensure the safety of the crews repairing the infrastructure facilities.

Since November 14, Russian peacekeepers have ensured the safe return of more than 26,000 refugees to their former places of residence.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities.
