The European Commission (EC) has developed a strategy for restarting relations with the United States under the Joe Biden administration.

The strategy will be developed along four main vectors: pandemic, climate, trade, and the advancement of the Western model of democracy, TASS reported.

The European Commission and the EU Foreign Service have submitted a proposal for a new transatlantic strategy. The victory of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris is a unique opportunity that presents itself once in a generation for the formation of a new transatlantic relationship.

The European Union will seek cooperation with the US to promote Western democracy in the world, as well as to oppose Russia and support the transfer of power in Belarus.

Transatlantic cooperation in relation to Russia will remain key, in particular, with regard to compliance with international law. This includes the protection of the territorial integrity and energy security of our eastern partners, it says.

Ukraine is a priority partner where US support is vital to strengthening security and a joint ambitious reform agenda. There is an intention to step up support for a peaceful democratic transfer of power in Belarus.

Besides, the EU and the US share a fundamental interest in strengthening democracy around the world, the document says.
