The New Year tree will not be put up at the Republic Square in Yerevan this year, spokesperson of Yerevan Mayor Hakob Karapetyan told Armenpress.

“We will not put up the New Year tree at the square this year. The Yerevan City Hall made a decision not to set up New Year decorations in the capital as well,” Karapetyan said.

Earlier on November 24, the Council of Elders of Yerevan had decided to send 100 million drams intended for the New Year events to Stepanakert.
