The incumbent American leader Republican Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, may pursue her own political career, after the end of her father's presidential term, the Washington Post reported, referring to sources, close to the Trump family.

Ivanka Trump, having gained experience in the White House and reaching reputation, both domestically and internationally, can either nominate herself for an elected office or begin to fully participate in the activities of the US Republican Party.

One of the options, if the president's daughter and her husband Jared Kushner come back to live in New York, they may take part in the US House of Representatives elections from in the 12th district of New York. The district represents now in the legislative body Carolyn Maloney (Democrat).

“I think she would like to become the first US woman president,” the newspaper quotes film producer Marissa Velez Kraxberger, who worked as creative director at Ivanka Trump's company for two years. It is noted the president's daughter herself had previously denied she wanted to participate in the presidential elections in 2024. Her name was included in opinion polls on the hypothetical primaries of the Republican Party, in which Trump himself would not have participated. She gained about 4%.

Earlier, a number of US media, including CNN, reported Trump frequently discussed with his advisers the possibility of nominating Ivanka for the vice president post during the 2016 election campaign. The president himself later denied this information. Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are currently holding the position of as Trump's advisers.

Trump may announce his intention to run for the presidency in 2024 even before the end of the current presidential term, the Axios portal, citing sources, said on Wednesday. Earlier, American media also informed about the possibility of Trump's participation in the next US presidential election.
