The French government is against Nagorno-Karabakh recognition, Le Figaro reported.

The head of French diplomacy Jean-Yves Le Drian said Thursday that he opposed the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh by France after a unanimous vote in the National Assembly on this issue.

French FM Le Drian confirmed that he does not share this initiative for recognition, stressing that the Armenian friends themselves do not ask for this. Such a decision would mean the exclusion of France from the co-chairmanship of the Minsk Group, which unites Paris, Moscow, and Washington in search of a settlement to this conflict.
