“The foreign policy of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) centers on the Turkic world. The relevant section of the MHP’s election manifesto reads that the Turkic countries are the focal point of the party’s foreign policy. One of the basic targets of foreign policy for the MHP is to establish sound relationships as well as develop economic, social, political and cultural ties with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Caucasus, Turkic republics and the Balkans, Today’s Zaman newspaper reports.

“With only 11 days to the general elections, Today’s Zaman spoke to MHP deputy Umit Ozdag, an academic who is also one of the leading foreign policy experts in the party”.
