YEREVAN. – RA [Republic of Armenia] Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan offered to join and sign a memorandum on snap parliamentary elections. However, we offer a counter-memorandum. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party and head of its parliamentary faction, said this at Thursday’s traditional briefing of the National Assembly.

"There was a meeting with the prime minister, where it was suggested that we sign a memorandum, according to which we will not nominate another candidate [for PM] after his resignation," Marukyan recalled. "However, I have already said that our agenda is the formation of a transitional government. I am the candidate from our political force in the transitional government, and I shall nominate my candidacy."

But he added that no consensus had been reached, and therefore the issue was closed.
