If MIkayel Minasyan’s statements are true, a criminal case needs to be launched against Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan. This is what former head of the General Department of Control at the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Justice Major General Tatul Petrosyan told reporters today.

According to him, the Prosecutor General’s Office had to launch a criminal case under state treason at once.

Petrosyan said he was surprised that the National Security Service had refuted the information, declaring that Mirzoyan isn’t an agent.

“With this logic, inquiries can be forwarded in regard to anyone, and the National Security Service needs to state whether the particular person is an agent or not. As far as the parliamentary speaker is concerned, if he isn’t an agent, what’s the point of conducting an official inspection? If Minasyan is right, in Mirzoyan’s case, this concerns a freelance agent who receives money for every piece of information that he transmits. A freelance agent can also be an official,” Petrosyan added and noted that what surprises him is the fact that Mirzoyan has dealt with issues related to the Armenian Genocide and is allegedly an agent and that the public is indifferent towards this.

Former Ambassador of Armenia to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan has declared that Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan is an agent for the special services of Turkey and Armenia.
