The Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia on Thursday recorded a magnitude-3.8 earthquake in the Nakhchivan-Armenia border area, at 11:23pm local time, 33 km northeast of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, and 10 km beneath the surface, MES informed.
It measured magnitude 5 at the epicenter.
The seismic activity was also felt in Vayk and Yeghegnadzor towns of Vayots Dzor Province, and in a number of settlements of Syunik Province of Armenia —and with magnitude 3 to 4.
