The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk has promised an award for the 'best' carbon capture tech.

“Am donating $100M towards a prize for best carbon capture technology,” Musk wrote in a tweet, followed by a second tweet that promised “Details next week.”

The capture process involves separating carbon dioxide from industrial and energy sources of emissions and then storing it so that it does not enter the atmosphere. The main goal is to combat global warming and environmental pollution.
