YEREVAN. – During Friday’s court session on the criminal case of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials, the court denied the motions by Kocharyan’s lawyers for the recusal of the current members of the prosecution.

The court decision was announced by presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan.

To note these motions were four, and were submitted during the Tuesday’s court hearing by Kocharyan's attorneys and the lawyer of former deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan.

The defense demanded the recusal of all these prosecutors and Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, arguing that these prosecutors had a subjective attitude towards the case and were carrying out a directive.

The next court hearing is scheduled for February 2.
