YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia faction will not take part in the parliament vote on the election for the new members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). Arman Abovyan, secretary of the parliamentary faction of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party, told about this to reporters on Friday.

He explained that the reason is that the priority of the issues being discussed in Armenia has been violated.

"There was a discussion on that topic in the faction, and a decision was made," Abovyan added.

The issue of electing new members of the SJC is on the agenda of the special sitting of the National Assembly on Friday. The ruling My Step bloc has nominated two candidates: Gagik Jhangiryan and Davit Khachaturyan.
