YEREVAN. – To make their complaint be heard by the authorities, the citizens will close off roads in the near future demanding the reopening of the Vardenis-Karvachar motorway. Independent MP Taguhi Tovmasyan on Friday told this to reporters in the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to her, while the Armenian authorities are signing documents on regional de-blockage, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) remains under blockade, and this creates problems especially for those in Armenia who work in Artsakh and now will have to travel along a quite longer motorway to reach Artsakh.

"This is a crucial issue; it must be voiced as soon as possible. One of the key issues in the post-war period should be the reopening of the Karvachar motorway," Tovmasyan said, noting that she was going to write to the Foreign Ministry regarding this issue.

According to the MP, people are going to close off important roads.

To note, a few days ago the people of Artsakh blocked—also with this demand—the Martakert-Vardenis motorway through which Azerbaijani cars travel to Karvachar, and accompanied by Russian peacekeepers.
