Lithuania will receive enough doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to vaccinate 70% of the population by early July, which will ensure herd immunity, Reuters reported referring to the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda.
The World Health Organization estimates that 60–70% of the population needs to be vaccinated to prevent transmission of the virus.
Nauseda said Lithuania, with a population of 2.8 million, would need to vaccinate 10,000 people a day by February and up to 35,000 people a day by April to reach the July target.
