YEREVAN. – According to the draft budget for 2020, it was originally planned to ensure 1 trillion 607 billion drams in revenues, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, this figure was revised in favor of a reduction. Karen Tamazyan, Head of the Tax Administration Organization, Oversight and Monitoring Department of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, told this top a press conference on Monday.

According to him, the final figure was set at 1 trillion 326 billion drams, but the SRC managed to redo the program and “replenish” the state budget with 1 trillion 385 billion drams.

At the same time, the official said that close to 138 billion drams—which were also collected by the SRC—were returned to Armenia’s taxpayers, and thus, this tax department managed to collect 1 trillion 523 billion drams.

At the same time, according to Tamazyan, 71.3 percent of the aforementioned 1 trillion 385 billion drams are from the first one thousand largest taxpayers in the country.
