Deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Taguhi Tovmasyan posted the following on her Facebook page:

“A little while ago, I addressed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Aivazian in regard to the alarms sounded by Armenian drivers located in Marneuli, Rustavi (Georgia).

Unfortunately, an unpleasant and dangerous incident has been recorded. Apparently, the Azerbaijani residents of Marneul threw rocks at cars with Armenian license plate numbers, broke the windows of some of the truck drivers and, according to the drivers, created obstacles for their movement. This concerns nearly a dozen trucks.

I have asked the minister to promptly solve the issue in order to allow drivers with Armenian license plate numbers to come to Armenia safely. We hope the authorities of Georgia won’t let this crime go unpunished.”
