Russia and the United States have decided to extend the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, said Deputy FM Sergei Ryabkov, RIA Novosti reported.

The deal will be extended on Moscow's term for five years without preconditions.

On Tuesday, a phone talks took place between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden. The sides expressed satisfaction with the exchange of notes on reaching a deal on the extension of the START treaty. According to the White House, Biden and Putin ordered their employees to work urgently to have time to extend it until February 5.
