YEREVAN. – Due to the coronavirus, there have been many travel restrictions since last year; many of our compatriots were raising the issue of resuming air communication with the Russian Federation. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

According to him, this is also an issue with a social component because many Armenian citizens go to Russia for work. “The Travel without Covid-19 program is being launched, on which the governments of Armenia and the Russian Federation have already made decisions. The essence of the program is that based on a negative coronavirus test, [Armenian] citizens will be able to travel by air to Russia, to specific airports. This program is being launched so far on a pilot basis until March 1. But in practice, we believe it will work because the pre-test has already been successful," Pashinyan said, adding that due to this fact, flights will increase.

To note, the entrance of Armenian citizens to Russia will resume on February 1.
