More than 60% of the world’s population has referred to climate change as an 'emergency’, TASS reported, citing the data of the survey conducted by Oxford University’s experts and specialists of the UNDP.

Nearly 1,200,000 people participated in the survey from 50 countries around the world, and teens and adolescents under 18 also participated in the survey via mobile apps.

Out of the participants, 64% view climate change as an emergency situation, even in spite of the spread of the coronavirus. The majority of the participants said they support countries’ climate policies.

Based on the data, adolescents, more than adults, are certain that climate change is a serious problem for mankind.

Moreover, most of the surveyed stated forest and land conservation, active transition to solar and wind energy and use of ecologically safe measures for agriculture as ways to solve the problems linked to climate change.
