Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has denied accusations of supplying EU-intended COVID-19 vaccines to other countries, the company's head Pascal Soriot noted.

According to him, the company does not make money from this vaccine and treats Europe fairly, DW reported.

The European Commission suspects interruptions in the vaccine's supply amid accusations that AstraZeneca may transfer some of the vaccines intended for the EU to the UK and other non-EU countries.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the online-meeting of World Economic Forum, urged vaccine manufacturers to fulfill their obligations.

According to the deal signed in August 2020, the EU is to receive up to 400 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. According to the EU representative, AstraZeneca received 336 million euros in advance.
