France is discussing the return of Armenian captives with the Azerbaijani authorities. This is what French MFA Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne told reporters in Yerevan today.

“This issue is obviously discussed with the Azerbaijani authorities whenever there is an opportunity. In any case, France is discussing all the possible issues with the two sides. Of course, we understand the emotions of Armenian families, especially those who still haven’t found their sons. The main mandate for the solution to the issue of prisoners of war is in the hands of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the latter is working in this direction. However, it is obvious that France raises this issue whenever possible,” the Secretary of State said.
