There have been revelations that have raised even more suspicions about why Armenian suffered such a defeat in the Nagorno-Karabakh war, the second Armenian president Robert Kocharyan told Armenian media.

"This creates an atmosphere due to which numerous questions of citizens remain unanswered by government agencies. And this is definitely a big issue. Each person is faced with a dilemma: the prime minister and the authorities did so that there was a war and did nothing to prevent it; the prime minister and the authorities did everything to lose and did nothing not to lose," he said.

Kocharyan recalled diplomatic failures, provoking Turkey and Azerbaijan, bringing the process to a dead end, neutralizing experienced military leaders during hostilities, moving from a regular army to detachments. All this was discussed and continues to be discussed up to now, he noted.

According to him, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces on the 4th day of the war reported that it was impossible to continue it, but it was not stopped.

"This raises great suspicions that there was such a deal, shady agreements, people have a right to be suspicious. This is an abnormal situation. One gets the impression that this was a pre-planned war of defeat. This reasonable suspicion appears when comparing the facts," he said.
