I have called on my supporters to actively participate in the political process; I know that they participate. The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, said this in an interview with three media outlets on Wednesday, when asked how they will participate in the current and future processes.

"Why am I not more actively involved? We must be honest here. The reason is the following: For the [parliament majority] My Step faction, I am a person whom they have kept in prison for two years, and in their thinking, in case of giving me power, I will draw the sword and take revenge on them left and right.

In the future processes, if there are elections, depending on the format, we have all the mechanism necessary for the political struggle; there is also a [political] team.

(…) snap [parliamentary] elections [in Armenia] are dangerous today, in this atmosphere, in the absence of answers to these contradictions, uncertainties, very sensitive questions. I will definitely run in the elections. But, nonetheless, if the government manages to force elections faster (…), then even in that case I do not think it is right not to run. Otherwise, we will give these people an opportunity to re-establish their power. (…) but if these people do not understand that the elections are dangerous for the country in these conditions, and take that step, I do not think it is right to leave them alone with the public in the elections; that is why, yes, we will run, we will fight, and we will win [the elections]," Kocharyan added.
