To save time, I will not list the promises made by this government. What promise did it fulfill? Zero. The rapid growth became a rapid decline, the sovereignty was transformed into a protectorate, you saw what happened with the courts, and yet they remain in power and hope to be re-elected. The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, said this in an interview with several media outlets on Wednesday.

"The idea of elections is generally discredited [in Armenia]. Now you can not fulfill the promises, then be re-elected. (…). People's lives will not improve because there is no motivation needed to be re-elected to power. You can fail everything and stay in the chair," said the second president.

Kocharyan does not consider that the 16 opposition forces have not succeeded. According to him, everything is still ahead, and the question is whether the change of power in Armenia would be by the legitimate way or by revolution. "If they [the incumbent authorities] had some honor and shame, they would have apologized to the people and resigned. (…). This is the ‘quality’ of our current political elite (…). Revolution does not lead to a good place; we must go in a legitimate way," Kocharyan said.

He does not think that the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement has failed. It cannot continue like this for long. If the government is talking about snap parliamentary elections, it is already progress, Robert Kocharyan added.
