Today the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, which had been keeping silent about the fate of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Najmedin Sadikov, suddenly declared that he was relieved of his post in order to be sent to the reserve force, Turan reported.
During the days of the second Karabakh war, in no way did the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan respond to the question about the whereabouts of the first deputy minister of defense and failed to comment on the news about his dismissal. At the same time, military sources reported that Sadikov had been dismissed in the beginning of the war due to the discontent of the head of state who had criticized him for giving an inadequate report on the situation in the army. According to several soldiers, the casualties suffered in the beginning of the war were linked to Sadikov, and after that, the Ministry of Defense had dismissed many of the people whom Sadikov had introduced for posts.
Although four months have passed since Sadikov’s dismissal, nobody has been appointed to the position of Chief of the General Staff.
