A 30-year-old mother-to-be died in circumstances yet unknown at Beglaryan Medical Center in Yerevan.

Bella Arshakyan, sister of the deceased mother-to-be Nelly Arshakyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am the following: “On February 1 at 10:30 a.m. she had a daughter through C-section. My sister didn’t have any health problem. She had given birth to two children through natural childbirth in the past, but this time she gave birth through C-section since the child’s umbilical cord was wrapped. At 4 a.m. my sister, Nelly called her husband on the phone, telling him that doctors had injected a needle into her, after which her condition sharply deteriorated. At dawn, my sister died. The doctor who had injected the needle, the pregnancy doctor and the on-duty doctors and nurses of the day weren’t at the hospital, and nobody gave any commentary.”

Armenian News-NEWS.am tried to contact Beglaryan Medical Center, but nobody answered the phone calls.
