Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the Armenia Supreme Body of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation-ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party and coordinator of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement, made a post on Facebook, noting the three main reasons for PM Nikol Pashinyan's refusal to hold snap parliamentary elections in the country.

"First, the person who has clung to the prime minister's chair has realized that he has no chance to reproduce himself through elections; it is simply impossible.

Second, the same person has realized that if he went that way, he would have serious problems with his own [political] team, as most of the ‘backpacks’ that appeared in the parliament by chance has sensed the risk of irretrievably losing the [parliamentary] mandate.

Third, they think the [Homeland Salvation] Movement has faded away, and in case of sidetracking the society with false agendas a bit more, what they have done will be digested, will pass, will go.

So, they have decided to hold on to their power by force, trying to consolidate it in various methods. But right here they are making a terrible mistake, as the populist-traitors can deceive their own people once; the second [time] it will not work," Saghatelyan wrote, adding that now the Armenian citizens who were considering getting rid of the incumbent authorities through elections will already take to the streets.

"The next rally [of the Homeland Salvation Movement] will take place on February 20 at 15:00 at Liberty Square [in Yerevan],” Ishkhan Saghatelyan also wrote.
