Armenia’s Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Armenia Patrik Svensson.

The minister congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his diplomatic mission in Armenia and attached importance to the programs that Sweden is carrying out in different sectors.

The interlocutors discussed issues on Armenian-Swedish cooperation agenda and stated the need to expand the scope of economic cooperation. The Ambassador stated that Sweden is willing to cooperate with the Government of Armenia in several directions and particularly touched upon the programs being carried out in the areas of agriculture, information technologies, trade and territorial administration.

The minister also attached importance to the entry of the Swedish IKEA and H&M companies into the Armenian market. In his turn, the Ambassador informed that Swedish companies have expressed the desire to participate in the digitization of economy and waste processing in Armenia.

Svensson attached importance to the actions being taken within the scope of the Eastern Partnership Plan, including for improvement of the business climate, justice, human rights protection and other areas.
