Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan today had a meeting with outgoing UNDP Resident Representative Dmitry Mariyasin.

Avinyan expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and stated that the Government of Armenia and the UNDP have worked effectively through several programs in the past few years. Mariyasin presented the results of the programs implemented in the previous years.

The parties discussed the course of implementation of and prospects for the projects being carried out through cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the UNDP, touched upon the programs being implemented in Armenia’s communities and discussed the establishment of community centers for employment and leisure.

Avinyan presented the economic response plan that the government approved recently and stated economic recovery as the main purpose. The Deputy Prime Minister also pinpointed the sectors that are new and may be interesting for investors and contribute to expansion of the business environment. The parties also earmarked the opportunities for future cooperation and discussed a broad range of issues related to technological advancement, effective management and use of resources, the policy on the fight against corruption and reforms in public governance.
