Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian today had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zakharieva, the Armenian MFA reports.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the Armenian-Bulgarian relations hinged on historical friendship and several cultural ties, touched upon a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda and underscored their willingness to take steps for further enrichment and reinforcement of the agenda.

The foreign ministers also exchanged views on cooperation within the scope of the European Union and, in this context, attached special importance to the full entry into force of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

During the phone talks, Aivazian and Zakharieva discussed issues related to regional stability and security. Minister Aivazian called his interlocutor’s attention to the humanitarian situation created in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in consequence of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression and the actions being taken to address the situation.
