YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister must comment on where he got that information from. Former Minister of Defense of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan stated this in a conversation with NEWS.am Tuesday, referring to PM Nikol Pashinyan's statement that the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was made at the instigation of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan.

"It is clear that [former presidents] Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan are at the root of the formation of the [Armenian] army, and they have the right to talk to the army generals and the military. But if Serzh Sargsyan is behind that statement, where did he [Pashinyan] get that information from?" Ohanyan asked.

According to him, in a war situation, not knowing the truth about the Russian-made Iskander ballistic missile system does not bring honor to any commander-in-chief. "When did the so-called Prime Minister not change what he said? He says something, makes an expression, then he or his [political] teammates correct the mistakes he said. He did not know the truth. Not knowing the truth about such a serious weapon—especially in a state of war—does not bring honor to any commander-in-chief," said Seyran Ohanyan.

And referring to the Security Council statement proposing President Armen Sarkissian to sign PM Pashinyan’s proposal to dismiss Onik Gasparyan from the post of chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ohanyan stressed that they do not have the level of morality and professionalism of the chief of General Staff. "The Security Council is under the Prime Minister; it can say anything. But they should stay away from the army, keep their hands away from the chief of the General Staff because they do not have the level of morality and professionalism that the chief of the General Staff has," Seyran Ohanyan added.
