Armenia’s opposition Homeland Salvation Movement has made the following statement:

“The Homeland Salvation Movement considers the stance of President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian on dismissing Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Onik Gasparyan very troubling.

In the press release that was issued, the head of state circumvents the issue of challenging Nikol Pashinyan’s relevant decision in the Constitutional Court.

Proceeding from the aforementioned, representatives of the Homeland Salvation Movement demand an urgent meeting with the President of Armenia.”
