The constitution states that the chief of the General Staff cannot be removed from his job, said the candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia from the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement Vazgen Manukyan.

"It was submitted to the president. The latter made the right decision and returned the decree to the Prime Minister. He again sent the same decree to the President. We were demanding the president to send the proposal to the Constiational Court. The three-day time limit expired and he did not do it. But the lawyers found a way to prevent Onik Gasparyan from being fired by the 8th," Manukyan said.

"During this time, the president must again appeal to the Constitutional Court. This promise and this reality were clarified to our delegation, which has just visited the presidential residence. That is, we got half what we wanted. We have taken one more step, but there is time to fight ahead," Manukyan said.
