Armenia’s opposition Homeland Salvation Movement has issued the following statement:

“Today Vazgen Manukyan, candidate of the Homeland Salvation Movement for Prime Minister of Armenia, received a notice from the Investigative Committee of Armenia stating that, in relation to public calls for seizing power, on February 20, 2021, the Investigative Committee launched a criminal case under Article 301 (overthrow of the constitutional order) of the Criminal Code of Armenia and decided to engage Vazgen Manukyan as accused.

For this purpose, on March 4 at 11 a.m. the Investigative Committee has summoned Vazgen Manukyan to a questioning in order to bring a charge against him and question him as an accused.

P.S.: The political persecutions against Vazgen Manukyan can in no way have an impact on his principles, political struggle and his resoluteness to prevent Armenia from the disaster that poses a threat to the country.”
