Deputy Governor of Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province, Colonel Arayik Muradyan has submitted his resignation letter and has made the following announcement:

“Dear compatriots, our homeland is currently facing serious challenges, and instead of uniting as one, realizing the mistakes, solving the current problems and moving forward, the country’s leadership is busy creating barriers.

As a serviceman who has helped form the Armenian army, I have dedicated my whole life to homeland defense and empowerment of the country as a freedom fighter and then an officer of the Armed Forces of Armenia and proudly bear the honorable title.

As a participant in nation-building and considering the current situation unacceptable, I am resigning from the post of Deputy Governor of Vayots Dzor Province-head (commander) of militia military formation and, as a dignified officer, declare that I am joining the statement issued by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia and expressing my support to Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Onik Gasparyan.

I urge my friends-in-combat and servicemen of the Armenian Army to keep the borders of our country strong, remain alert and perform their tasks with full responsibility.”
