Democratic congressman Eric Swalwell on Thursday filed a lawsuit against former US President Donald Trump and his associates, in which he called them responsible for the injuries and destruction during the storming of the Capitol, Axios reported.

According to him, Trump's lawyer Rudolph Giuliani, Donald Trump Jr. and Republican Congressman Morris Brooks are the defendants in the lawsuit. 

Swalwell argues that the defendants conspired through force, intimidation and threats to take action to interfere with the presidential election approval process.

According to Axios, the lawsuit contains a demand for monetary compensation, as well as a requirement for the defendants to notify in writing about the mass events organized on election day seven days in advance.
