YEREVAN. – Former servicemen of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Onik Gasparyan, and numerous other citizens have marched to and joined the opposition rally on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue, across the parliament building.

Earlier, they staged a protest in front of the Ministry of Defense building, expressing their support for Gasparyan, then went to the presidential office, demanding a meeting with President Armen Sarkissian.

"President Armen Sarkissian is not here; of course, we were not received. Most of the participants with us have joined the rally on [Marshal] Baghramyan Avenue. Now we will go down, join our compatriots, then we will all together march here, and then we will say what we will do," announced Ara Zohrabyan, Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of Armenia.

When these protesters meet with President Sarkissian, they intend to demand that the President send to the Constitutional Court the Prime Minister’s petition to dismiss Onik Gasparyan.
