Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla canceled his expected visit to Israel after it was revealed he was not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, N12 TV reported on Friday.

According to the TV channel, Bourla, as well as members of the delegation that was supposed to accompany him during the visit, did not receive the second dose of the vaccine.

As a result, it was decided to postpone the visit for several days, which also created logistical problems in connection with the upcoming Israeli elections.

Bourla said in December that he had not yet received the vaccine because he did not want to get in line and would wait for his age group to be next in line to get vaccinated. Thus, he received the first dose but has not yet received the second one.

Pfizer did not respond to a request from The Jerusalem Post to comment on the issue.

"We continue to be interested in visiting Israel and meeting with decision-makers," a Pfizer spokesperson told N12. "The visit to Israel will probably be scheduled toward the end of spring."
