YEREVAN. – Tuesday’s court hearing of the criminal case against Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials has been rescheduled due to the deteriorating health condition of defendant—and former defense minister—Seyran Ohanyan.

Ohanyan's lawyer told the court that his client was in hospital, and had been transferred there on March 7.

The attorney asked the court for a 5-minute break to find out when Ohanyan was scheduled to be discharged from hospital.

After speaking to Ohanyan, the lawyer told the court that there was no respective information yet, but the court would be informed as soon as his client was discharged from hospital.

The attorney promised to submit—at the next hearing—the documents on the reasons for Seyran Ohanyan’s hospitalization.

Also, the medical documents related to the deterioration of the health condition of defendant—and former Deputy Prime Minister—Armen Gevorgyan and to his absence from the last court session were submitted to the court.

The court adjourned, and set the next hearing for March 16.
