President Armen Sarkissian on Wednesday invited Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the heads of the parliamentary factions, and the leaders of the Homeland Salvation Movement—which demands Pashinyan’s resignation—to a meeting on Saturday to discuss the situation in Armenia and find mutually acceptable solutions to overcome the current crisis in the country.

Armenian News-NEWS.am tried to find out whether the aforesaid political forces and Pashinyan will accept this invitation.

The Prime Minister's spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan told us that she does not comment on this matter yet.

Secretary of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction in parliament, Arman Abovyan, stated that the matter had not been discussed in their faction yet.

But the opposition Bright Armenia faction in the National Assembly (NA) has accepted the President's invitation.

"On behalf of the Bright Armenia Party and the Bright Armenia faction of the NA, I declare that we accept the invitation and are ready to participate in any discussion where it will be possible to restore civil solidarity and find ways to bring the country out of the deep crisis," Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the Bright Armenia Party and head of its parliamentary faction, wrote on Facebook.
