Armenia’s former Consul General in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Hrayr Karapetyan, who was recalled from the post of Consul General in July 2019, was recently dismissed from the Foreign Ministry system—by the order of Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, Yerkir.am reports.

In recent times, Karapetyan has been sharply critical of the foreign policy pursued by the Armenian government and PM Nikol Pashinyan, especially pointing to their mistakes made in Armenian-Russian relations.

Hrayr Karapetyan, along with a number of other Armenian diplomats, also had joined the statement demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government.
