After a certain decline in the number of deposits due to the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Armenia last year, the Central Bank has recorded a rise in the number of the deposits this year. This is what Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan told reporters today.

According to him, when people were withdrawing deposits from banks in October and November, the Central Bank was urging them not to do that since they would hurt themselves. “We see that even after the 7.6% economic downturn last year when the incomes of household economies dropped to a certain extent, this year the breaks are at a normal level, and there is a rise in the number of deposits in banks,” Galstyan said.
