Due to the repair of the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia natural gas pipeline, Russian natural gas supplies to Armenia will be temporarily carried out via Azerbaijan, Gazprom Export reported.

The aforesaid Russian natural gas company on Tuesday signed a short-term contract with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan for the transportation of natural gas through the territory of Azerbaijan, Kommersant reports.

"The contract stipulates that during the planned-precautionary repairs of the Russian section of the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia main [natural] gas pipeline, [natural] gas will be delivered to consumers through the territory of Azerbaijan to the Georgian border," Gazprom Export reported.

The repair works will take about three weeks, after which the natural gas will be transported along the previous route: via the Russian-Georgian border.
