In a statement issued on February 7, the ruling My Step faction of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia had said that, "there is no demand for snap [parliamentary] elections among the general public." Gegham Manukyan, a member of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation-ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party, wrote this on Facebook.
"Their land-giver leader [i.e., PM Nikol Pashinyan] has again put into circulation the issue of organizing elections under his dictatorial regime to retain his seat. Perhaps he has found a new lifeline to get rid of the public demand for [his] resignation, to which the [My Step] MPs are forced to, tacitly agree.
On March 19, at 15:00, I will be with my family at the service entrance of the National Assembly ([Derenik] Demirchyan Street) to ask those who have the mandate of an NA MP coming in and out through the back entrance: How much does their debasing service to the land-giver cost? And how much is the Armenian exchange rate of 30 silvers? Will you come, join?” Manukyan added.
