In regard to energy-related issues, it would be better, if Armenia didn’t rely on Baku. This is what Director of the Institute of the Eurasian Economic Union, co-founder of the Eurasian Expert Club, political scientist Vladimir Lepekhin told Armenian News-NEWS.am today, adding that Armenia needs to consider opportunities for cooperation with Iran.

The analyst advised to not rely on Azerbaijan since this can become a subject for blackmail at any moment.

On March 17, Gazprom Export LLC issued a statement stating that Russian natural gas will temporarily reach Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan and that the natural gas will be supplied through the former route after the planned preventive actions in the Russian sector of the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia natural gas pipeline.

As Sputnik Armenia reported, citing Gazprom Armenia’s press service, Russian natural gas has been reaching Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan since yesterday, and the route will be active from March 18 until April 15.
