Israel and the UAE are planning a rail project linking Abu Dhabi to Haifa, head of the Israeli National Economic Council Avi Simhon noted

According to him, the two countries are studying several megaprojects of infrastructure, including this railway, Sama news agency reports.

He noted that this railway will pass through Jordan and Saudi Arabia, adding that there is an excellent opportunity for this project, since most of the railway already exists, except for 200-300 kilometers in Jordan.

According to Simhon, the implementation of this project will help Israel deliver goods to the UAE in one or two days instead of shipping through the Suez Canal, which takes about 12 days. Then fresh vegetables will be easier to export to the UAE markets. He noted that this project is supported by the United States.
