Armenia has only one chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. This is what Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan said in response to deputies’ questions during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials, adding that there are army generals who have been chiefs of the General Staff in the past.

On March 22, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that Artak Davtyan has assumed the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia “by virtue of law”.
