Citizen of Georgia Teona Tuashvili, 26, was viciously murdered in Istanbul and supposedly became a victim of an armed robbery.

Turkish presses report that on March 22 at around 3 p.m. four anonymous persons barged into her apartment where she was living with her Pakistani husband and stabbed the woman’s throat with a knife several times. The woman died on the spot, and the husband was transferred to a hospital in dire condition, Georgia News reports.

The neighbors called paramedics and the police. The attackers managed to hide, and the knife was seized as a piece of evidence. The motive behind the crime remains unknown.

Teona had been living in Turkey for four years and was working at a factory to collect funds to buy an apartment for her child. Teona’s parents say this might have been the reason for the armed robbery

The deceased woman’s family is waiting for the body to be transferred to Georgia. Police are establishing the reasons for the incident.
