At least 20,000 new high-tech specialists will be needed in the Republic of Armenia (RA) over the next five years. The minister of high-tech industry of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan, wrote about this on Facebook.

"As you know, the growth of the sector in 2018 and 2019 was more than 30%, whereas in the conditions of the 2020 crisis—more than 20%.

The [aforesaid] forecast is based on the assumption that the growth of the sector in the coming years will be at least 20%, and job growth—15% (the possible increase in wages has been taken into account).

Looking at these numbers, I would like to once again inspire and call on our citizens to choose especially the natural science fields of education, and to the specialists—to get additional knowledge in the field of technology, participating in the programs and other educational/training projects of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry," Arshakyan added.
